5 Hacks to Keep Your Makeup Travel Bag Minimal

All makeup lovers have faced the struggle of narrowing down their makeup and skincare collection at least once while traveling. The limited space of your luggage or backpack does not allow you to take up more in your makeup travel bag, plus some of us are unable to complete our makeup without our daily skincare routine; so we have to carry our moisturizers, toners, eye creams, and serums in order to get the desired look. However, with some simple hacks, you can skip those extra products but still get your makeup done. Here are 5 of them to keep your makeup bag minimal while traveling.

Use moisturizer as a primer

Skip carrying the primer bottle and take a good moisturizer to use it as a primer. A moisturizer with oils like argan oil, avocado oil, and rosehip oil works very well as the alternative for primer. If you have an oil-based serum then that will also do the work. Another great alternative for primer is aloe vera gel, which works both as a base and a moisturizer.

Replace liquid foundation with sticks

Liquid foundations are surely heavy to carry, they also tend to spill during traveling, so swap your liquid bottle of foundation with a stick foundation of the same shade. Stick foundations are very convenient because they take less time to blend, you can use them anywhere you like. Moreover, you can skip your setting powder if you take the foundation stick. Another alternative for liquid and stick foundation is a 3 in one cream to powder foundation which comes with a blending sponge.

Use lip color as a blush

Creamy lipsticks will work great as a blush so you can skip your regular blush and take 2 of your favorite lipsticks. Glide the lipstick on your cheeks and blend them with a brush or sponge to get your desired look. Matching your lipstick with the blush also makes your makeup look more natural and gives a smooth finish.

All in one makeup palette

Why take concealer, lipstick, blush, eyeshadow, and highlighter separately when you can carry just one makeup palette and use it for all purposes. There are several makeup palettes in the market by brands like Makeup Revolution, L.A Girl, NYX, Revlon, Sephora, and Huda Beauty. These palettes have color correctors, concealers, different types of eyeshadows, 1 or 2 blushes, lip colors, and highlighters all together. Therefore, purchasing an all in one makeup palette will not only save up space but also help you create more than one makeup look.

Oils for removing makeup

Carrying makeup removers or micellar water can take up more space in your makeup travel bag. One of the best hacks to remove makeup is to use your regular body oil, which can be coconut oil or olive oil. Oils work great as a makeup remover, make sure you wash your face well with a face wash afterward to clean all the oils. You can also remove makeup with your body lotion or vaseline jelly.

We have not included the kajal, kohl, eyeliner, brow pencils, and contour because they are usually smaller in size and can be carried without any hassle. An ideal makeup travel bag is a ziplock bag because they stop the products from spilling and breaking.
